if you have never been to judith, you should go. it is a finely curated women's shop in portland, and is full of all the lines i have followed on the internet, or gushed over on trips to new york. let me be clear, this is an aspirational store for me. while shopping at judith regularly is beyond my means, i strive to save up for that one piece to complete my wardrobe each season + then will also remain a wardrobe staple for years to come.
besides yearning for everything in the store, this store is so good for inspiration. touching beautiful fabrics, seeing cutting edge designs, being in a bright space which is occasionally the home to art installations (even cooler when it is one done by a friend) can leave you on a high. it leaves me always wanting more, always wanting to better my own style, and wanting to keep my creativity alive. along with being inspired by the clothes at judith, i love seeing the personal style of the shoppers there as well.
another cool thing about judith is having the chance to meet other badass, inspiring women at events in-store, like kelsy parkhouse from carleen who will be here with her summer collection this weekend.
when i found out about carleen a few years ago, i was intrigued. making something new from a piece with history is right up my alley. i feel as if i become a part of the story of the piece when i buy vintage. kelsy started her collection by making one-of-a-kind pieces out of vintage fabrics. her collections feel modern but with a nod to the past. her love for the art of quilting is evident + is really one of my favorite parts of what she does. the bright colors + cheery prints make this collection perfect for summer. i am really looking forward to seeing the pieces in person.
here are some specifics if you are looking to see the collection + meet kesly this weekend too:
p.s. obsessed with this photo.
